Hank Burns-Pavlik is a sound designer, live audio engineer, and AV technician from Farmington, MI. Currently based in Cincinnati, OH, he specializes in sound system design and reinforcement of classical music and opera.
Growing up working in his parent's bakery gave Hank a strong work ethic and attention to detail (as well as a few recipes), and his training as a classical musician has informed his commitment to efficiency, precision, and beauty in everything he does.
Hank started playing the piano and double bass in middle school, got bit by the theater sound bug soon after, and has been combining those two passions ever since. He currently attends the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), studying Sound Design and Technology through the Theater Design and Production program, with the goal of traveling the world and making artists sound good along the way.
Hank spent this summer as the Head of Live Audio at the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS), and has previously worked as an Engineer at the Spoleto Festival, Brevard Music Center, and various venues around Cincinnati and Metro-Detroit.
When Hank isn't backstage or at FOH, you can usually find him playing the banjo, devising new vegetarian recipes, tinkering around with old gear and modding instruments, or walking around listening to punk or bluegrass music.
